The Moon: Near and Far

  1. Looks like two completely different moons. If you showed the far side to me and asked what planet’s moon that is, I’d probably say Saturn or Jupiter

  2. I like how different the two hemispheres look. I’m curious though, is the moon tidal lying locked because of how different they are, or are they so different due to the moon being tidally locked? Is the far side more dense, leading it to always face outward? Or did always facing outward result in it having a more uniform color with more craters?
